“And tiptoe through the TULIPS with me…” AHHH… Look what John brought home for me the other day!! TULIPS my most FAVORITE flower!! Isn’t that just the SWEETEST?!

Mother/Daughter Day!

The SUNSHINE of my life…My Kate is just one of those people that instantly brings a smile to your face, she is just has the funniest and sweetest soul!! We had a Mother/Daughter day on Friday and even though it was gray and rainy, Kate made it the BRIGHT spot of my week!!

Toe Warmer!

Isn’t Balto just STINKIN’ CUTE??It has been a CHILLY Spring thus far, here in Portland, but I have my handy dandy toe warmer!! Balto, in all his furriness, LOVES to cuddle up on my feet, the bonus is WARM TOES!! LOL

Just a Short Note!

SWEET…So, this morning when I opened my email there was the SWEETEST note from an old schoolmate… MADE MY DAY!! Just a short note to say she is there and thinking of me and her phone number if I need to call, ANYTIME!! Just the fact that she took the time to send me a “reminder” that she is there made me remember just how LUCKY I am to have such WONDERFUL friends in my life!!

Keeping Oregon Green!

Portland has set an ALL TIME RAINFALL RECORD…OK… really NOT all that FABULOUS!! What I am trying to remind myself of is, ALL of this RAIN will just make SPRING all that more GLOROUSLY GREEN, when it FINALLY gets here… RIGHT??

“Just Another Manic Monday . . .”

YEP… It’s MONDAY…

Got the coffee flowing… it helps a little bit! It’s the first day of Spring Break, so I did get to sleep in!!

So, my niece Brooke is graduating high school in June and moving to Portland to go to college. She is going to move into the spare room here and came this weekend to hang out and for us to get ideas for her room! Yep, more painting is in my future!! Someone SAVE me, these are the colors she chose…

Not EXACTLY sure how I am going to get Tropical Waters and Summer Citrus to work together on the walls, but I’ll come up with something!! Right?? LOL Between the colors Kate chose for her room and these colors from Brooke, that end of the house is going to resemble a circus tent!!

SMOKE IS THE MAN…

On Sunday, Tony Stewart won the Auto Club 400 in Fontana, California!! WAHOO!! Granted it was a rain shortened race, so less than EXCITING… but HEY, a WIN is a WIN!!

And BEACAUSE it is SPRING BREAK in Oregon…

RAIN is forecasted for the ENTIRE WEEK!! Don’t know why I am disappointed every year… but it’s better than SNOW!! So, Kate and I will take it, at least it’s not in the 30’s anymore!!

Lillie is 15?!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO LILLIE…Boy, time flies!! Lillie’s mom, Lori, is one of my BESTEST friends… we were pregnant at the same time, Lillie and Kate are 2 months and 2 days apart!! I CANNOT BELIEVE they are getting SO OLD!!

Happy Birthday John!!

John turned 45 yesterday… HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!So, I cooked him his FAVORITE dinner, Pork Loin Chops, Mashed Potatoes and Gravy and Peas and Carrots!! YUMMY!! It is ONE of the FEW things my family begs me to cook, so I give in every now and then… not exactly the healthiest meal ever, but YUMMY!!

Super Sized!!

For my COFFEE HABIT…Our grocery store just started carrying the HUGE version of my FAVORITE coffee creamer!!

mmm, mmm good!!

And with my morning coffee this FINE Friday…Left over MASHED POTATOES & GRAVY!! HEAVEN!! I could SERIOUSLY live on MASHED POTATOES & GRAVY!! My FAVORITE food group!! LOL

 

Sunny Morning!!

SPLENDID SUNSHINE…I was beginning to wonder if I’d ever get to see the sun again!! After a week of BIZZARE weather, SNOW in Oregon in March, the sun is FINALLY SHINING!! It’s only 31 degrees outside…But that’s OK, I’ll take the frosty grass over the SNOW in March any day!!

“Just Another Manic Monday . . .”

I SWEAR I am MOVING…

This was the weather “situation” Sunday…Last time I checked, I live in OREGON… NOT The Great White North!!

WHAT ON EARTH?!
Then it started "snailing," snow + hail, along with THUNDER and LIGHTENING!
IT IS MARCH, IT IS OREGON!!

And then, as if that wasn’t enough, this morning…MORE FREAKING SNOW!!

I know, I must confess… just this past Friday in my Fabulous Friday! (on Saturday) post I said, “I am just trying to keep in mind that all of this cold wet weather is what makes Oregon so BEAUTIFULLY GREEN!!”

I LIED!!

I am now officially collecting signatures for a petition to have Mother Nature FIRED!! LOL

I WANT SPRING SUN!!

But, “The Chef” did bake some Cream Filled Cupcakes…So, after I took Kate to school and John was off to work, I had one for “breakfast” with my coffee!!

So, anywho… since the weather is so stellar here, I was cruisin’ around the web. I was looking for a Pinterest widget for Blogger blogs, because I am OBSESSED with Pinterest and Wordpress has one, so I wanted one!! In my search I found a brand new blog called Code it Pretty, this blog ROCKS!!

I AM IN LOVE!! In LOVE with Marie’s blog!! VERY easy to read (I LIKE feeling smart) and NOT all that techy blah, blah, blah!!

I followed Marie’s easy instructions, made a few tweaks that she provided the answers to and VOILA… A PINTEREST WIDGET!! SO EXCITING!! You can see it over there on the right side bar!!

The ONLY thing I wanted to change was when you click on the images to have them open in a new window, so you don’t get lost getting back here!! So, I asked if that was possible and not even 30 minutes later Marie had answered my question and provided me the code and instructions!!

How AWESOME is that?!

More Snow?

UMMM…OK, wasn’t so sure waking to SNOW on Thursday morning was all that FABULOUS! We didn’t have much of a winter here in Oregon, so it’s arrival in March has been, well… not well received!! I am just trying to keep in mind that all of this cold wet weather is what makes Oregon so BEAUTIFULLY GREEN!! LOL
