It’s Kate’s FAVE too, so I have heard it 900 million times and I LOVE it EVERY TIME!! The lyrics a PERFECT and SO IMPORTANT for a 13 year old to HEAR and KNOW!! Pretty good for a 43 year old too!!

Let’s Dance 2!

Let’s Dance 2 for the Wii is HOURS of entertainment…

Britt, Ryan and Kate!! It is HILARIOUS to watch them “DANCING,” and I use the word loosely!! But then it got even BETTER when Grandma Kathie got in on it…

HAHA!! It was ELVIS singing “Viva Las Vegas!!”

YUMMY, potato GOODNESS…

For New Years Eve we are making these YUMMY hors d'oeuvres!! Wash and cut baby red potatoes, brush entire potato with olive oil, sprinkle with salt and bake at 400 degrees until brown. Toppings are sour cream, chives and REAL bacon bits, or whatever else sound good!!

John built a FIRE and now it is NICE and TOASTY!!

I was WAY PARANOID about the whole applique thing, not sure why, just the fear of trying something new. I have decided that it is WAY FUN and could become addicting!!

Soon to be joining the Owl are the Hedgehog, the Birdie, the Puppy and the Elephant!!

I LOVE them!! They are machine stitched to the denim, so they are NOT going anywhere! I am also using a magnetic snap closure instead of the magnet used previously. And I must say, I am pretty proud of my stitching!!

The Lillie is perfect for that special little girl or the little girl in you! She is great for a quick trip about town or an evening out. The Lillie has a magnetic snap closure and convenient interior pocket.

“Just Another Manic Monday…”

So, the Christmas fun is over…

and the Christmas “clean-up” has begun!! OH JOY!!

Well, we had an AWESOME Christmas!! I hope that all of you did too!!

Brittney came over in the morning to open gifts with Kate…

And then Brittney took Kate over to her dad’s house for a little bit, while John and I started dinner…

The Chef made my FAVORITE Prime Rib…

OH MY GOSH!! It was YUMMY!!

My contribution was the gravy…

The one and only thing that John hasn’t mastered and is willing to let me do!!

Mattie, Balto and Iacocca had a very Merry Christmas too…

They each got a YUMMY Prime Rib bone!!

So, the Christmas madness is over, and all that’s left is the “clean-up!”

Which leads me to perhaps the BEST discovery…

WOOHOO!! This ANCIENT relic of a vacuum cleaner ROCKS!! I swear with three dogs, I have gone through WAY too many vacuum cleaners!! Which has always amazed me, we have wood floors… the only carpets are large area rugs in the living and dining rooms. Anyway, I was vacuuming and told John we were going to be needing a new one when he said, “I brought over an old Kirby when Fred moved.” Let me tell you, there was not one doggie hair left on the carpet when I was done!! How PATHETIC EXCITING is that??!! This definitely goes under the, “You know you are a Mom when,” category of life!!

Well, I better go get busy!! Even though we leave the decorations up until the New Year, there are boxes and paper to get rid of and organizing that needs to get done!!

The Christmas Tree Nazi…

THE RULES…

• I ONLY ALLOW Red and Gold ornaments on the TREE
• I “LET” the girls “HELP,” of course
• BUT, I am BOSSY
• There MUST be ornaments HUNG on the INSIDE of the TREE

• There CANNOT be like ornaments HUNG next to one another
• AFTER they go to bed I REARRANGE
• I DENY that I REARRANGE
• DO NOT TOUCH THE TREE once I REARRANGE, EVER
• There are NO PRESENTS under the TREE until Christmas morning
• If one should choose to VIOLATE any of the above RULES there will be SEVERE CONSEQUENCES (think reindeer poop in your stocking)

Now, doesn’t decorating the Christmas Tree with ME sound like TONS of family FUN?! Just gives you that WARM, COZY family moment kind of a feeling of coming together to SHARE the LOVE and SPIRIT of this most GLORIOUS season!!

Well, it has taken only 43 years, but I have decide to KICK the Christmas Tree Nazi to the CURB!! I am not sure if this CHANGE came about because I have been sick and didn’t have the energy or because I have MELLOWED…

I’d like to think I have MELLOWED! This year I let Kate and her friend Savanna decorate the TREE all on their own!! Granted most of the ornaments are still red and gold, but we have Kate’s doggies and some creative hanging of the ornaments!

I have NOT touched a single ornament, NO REARRANGING!! It is EXACTLY how Kate and Savanna decorated it, and I even let Kate wrap her gifts and put them under the TREE!! I must confess, the whole no presents under the TREE thing comes more from my procrastination than from tradition!!

I think our Christmas Tree this year is ABSOLUTELY PERFECT!! And while it may not make the cover of a magazine, when I look at it I see all the FUN and LOVE that is SUPPOSED to be during the Christmas season!! I am thinking Kate and I are going to hit the after Christmas sales and buy ornaments in EVERY COLOR!!

This is me throwing caution to the wind, along with that NASTY Christmas Tree Nazi!!
